Clean And Store
Truffle treatment (when received)
- After receiving the truffles,please open and inspect them
- Fresh truffles should be firm, with a slightly bumpy or knobby surface
- Before you’re ready to eat, remove any dirt with a soft brush (e.g toothbrush)
- Do not use hot water or soap to clean the fresh truffles.
- Use fans or blower with cold air to dry the surface in further (important)
- Wrap the truffle in a dry paper towel and place it in an airtight glass jar or sealed container
Short-Term Storage (Up to 1-2 weeks)
- Store in the coldest part of the fridge ( not the freezer ).
- Change the paper towel every 1-2 days to prevent moisture buildup
- Anytime when you find the truffle surface get wet, replace the wrap paper immediately
Long-Term Storage (Up to 1-2 months)
1. Freezing (Best for Cooking)
- Clean and dray the truffle,then vacuum-seal OR wrap tightly in plastic.
- Store in the freezer for up to 2 months.
- Grate frozen truffles directly into dishes (no need to thaw)
2. Preserve in Oil or Butter
- Slice or grate truffles and submerge in high-quality oil or butter.
- Keep refrigerated and use within 1-2 months.
Key Tips
- Avoid moisture (prevents mold).
- Use quickly for peak flavor (truffles lose aroma over time).
- Never store in plastic bags (traps moisture and causes rot).
